After I boot to the vista dvd to do a clean install no harddrives show up to install on. I have a WD sata harddrive. any suggestions?

Vista will not recognize harddrive
You may need to create a driver disk for the controller the drive is attached to. I had to for my initial install and the XP version worked fine (fortunately.) If that doesn't work you may need to use another controller or perhaps an IDE drive (neither of which is a fix but something to move forward on.)
